These terms are the agreement between you and Mesa for using our app. Mesa is a personal memory journal — a private place to keep the experiences that mattered, the people who were there, and the photos worth holding on to. By creating an account or using Mesa, you agree to these terms. We've written them to be read, not skimmed past. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
Mesa ("Mesa", "we", "us" or "our") provides the Mesa mobile app and web app (together, the "Service"). Mesa is operated from the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about these terms, contact us at privacy@mymesa.app.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use Mesa. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate. If you're using Mesa on behalf of someone else, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms for them.
You'll need an account to use Mesa. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at privacy@mymesa.app if you think someone else has accessed it. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
Mesa is built to hold your memories. The experiences, captions, photos and other content you add ("Your Content") belong to you. We don't claim ownership of it.
To run the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, back up, display and transmit Your Content — but only as needed to provide Mesa to you and to the companions you choose to share with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies held briefly in routine backups. We don't sell Your Content, and we don't use it for advertising.
You're responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to add it. Please only upload photos and details you have permission to use — including where other people appear in them.
Mesa lets you add companions to experiences and invite people to join. When you tag or invite someone, the experiences you choose to share — including their title, date, place and photos — may become visible to them. You decide what to share, and you're responsible for making sure you're comfortable sharing it with the people involved. Someone you invite can see shared experiences in a read-only view; nothing is added to another person's own journal unless they choose to keep it.
You can also create a public link to an individual experience to show it to someone who doesn't use Mesa. Anyone who has the link can view that experience in a web browser without an account, and can pass the link on to others, until you switch the link off or it expires. Making an experience public is your choice and your responsibility: only create a link for content you're comfortable anyone seeing, and that you have the right to share — including where other people appear in your photos. Companion names and your private tags are not shown on the public page. You can revoke a link at any time from the app.
When using Mesa, you agree not to:
If content or behaviour breaks these rules, we may remove the content, or suspend or terminate the account responsible.
Some features work by connecting to services you already use — such as Google sign-in, Google Photos, and setlist.fm for concert setlists. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms, and we're not responsible for them. You choose whether to connect them and can disconnect at any time. How we handle data from these services is described in our Privacy Policy.
Mesa offers a free plan with generous usage limits, shown in the app and on our pricing page. We may also offer paid plans (such as Mesa Plus) with higher limits and extra features.
We work hard to keep Mesa running and to protect your memories, but we may change, suspend or discontinue features from time to time. Where a change materially reduces the Service, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.
The Mesa name, logo, app, design and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms don't give you any right to use our branding or to copy, modify or distribute the Service, except as needed to use Mesa as intended.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mesa will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or content arising from your failure to keep your own copies. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount (if any) you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect.
You can stop using Mesa and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially break these terms, or if we reasonably need to in order to protect the Service or other users. If we do, we'll aim to give notice where appropriate. You can export or keep your own copies of your content before deleting your account.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Your continued use of Mesa after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you don't agree to a change, you can stop using Mesa and delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and to rely on any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply there.
